Remote learning
This is perhaps the single biggest development in the health and safety training world, and it is one that is here to stay. The pandemic saw a huge rise in demand for online learning, and that has remained the case over half a decade later. More of our courses can be fully or partially completed online than ever before, making learning with us incredibly convenient.
AI
You can’t talk about innovation without mentioning AI. While it is no replacement for genuine human skill and connection, there are so many ways in which it could be used in MEWP training in the future. It could be used to pick up on learner behaviour and any gaps in their competency, allowing for more personalised training. We’re really excited to see where this goes!
Virtual reality
VR headsets might be popular with those playing video games, but there is growing excitement that they could be used as part of IPAF training in the future. They could be a great way for learners to explore potentially hazardous scenarios before moving on to the real thing. This will not only give them more confidence but could also see higher pass rates.
Apps
While this is technically something that happens after you have passed a course, it is a change that is very much upon us and one that we are big fans of! The IPAF ePAL app is a digital wallet that allows you to store your PAL cards along with logging your experience and completing any pre-use checklists. This can all be done on your phone with just a few taps! Having everything in one place makes it so much easier for you and your employer to access the right information.
