SMSTS Courses
The Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) is a CITB accredited course aimed at those holding a senior position on construction sites, such as supervisors, managers and directors. The course takes 5 days to complete and is delivered through case studies, class discussions and group work.
Our course covers all of the current UK legislation, so delegates will be brought completely up to date. They will also be told how to manage and monitor safety on site. After successfully completing the course, delegates will receive a CITB Site Safety certificate. This is valid for 5 years – after which a refresher course can be taken before your certification expires to make sure that their knowledge is current.
SSSTS Courses
The Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) is for construction site supervisors. This course covers the legal responsibility they have to manage health and safety in the workplace, as well as welfare and environment for the members of their teams. The course is presented in an interactive format that’s easy for anyone to follow.
Our SSSTS courses are 2 days long, allowing our course leaders to cover a lot of information. They include class discussions along with individual or group presentations, allowing you to learn from others as well as your course leader. These are assessed and then combined with a score from a multiple-choice test taken by the delegate at the end of the course. Successful completion of a course will lead to the CITB Site Survey certificate. This is valid for 5 years, and a refresher course can be taken at the end of that time, before it expires, to renew it.
CSCS Green Card Certification
For those looking to obtain a CSCS green card, we can help you to complete the first part of the necessary training. We offer the HSA course, which is 1 day long. If a delegate completes this successfully, they will need to go on and take an environmental touch screen test to receive the card. Many employers require a CSCS card, and it’s now a key requirement for many positions within the construction industry. It shows that you have a solid understanding of the health and safety practices required on a site, and an employer will know that you have a basic level of knowledge when you start your role, reducing the amount of time they have to spend bringing you up to speed.
Work at Height Courses
If someone is going to be working at a height, even if at ground level near an excavation, they are at a higher risk of suffering a workplace accident. Whether they are using scaffolding, ladders, harnesses, platforms and powered access equipment, they will need to know how to do so safely. They will also need to be able to carry out risk assessments and use PPE correctly. Luckily for those delegates, we are here to give them the knowledge and practical skills they need to work at height with no issues.
Our range of courses include harness use, harness inspection, steps, ladders, harness and leading edge. We’ll also teach delegates how to identify the hazards that can come with working at height, helping them to prevent accidents before they happen.

Face Fit Testing
Construction sites are often full of fumes and fine particles such as dust, both of which can damage someone’s respiratory health in both the long and short term. That’s where we come in. Our face fit testing ensures that a mask provides a complete seal, stopping an individual from inhaling anything harmful.
So how does a face fit test work? At the start of the test, a delegate will be asked to taste a bitter solution. Once they have done this, they will work their way through a number of exercises while wearing a mask. This is to see if it moves. The test is successfully completed when a delegate has worked their way through the exercises without having tasted any more of the bitter solution. After this, it is recommended that a face fit test be carried out every 2 years. This is the easiest and most effective way to guarantee prolonged respiratory protection.
