IPAF (International Powered Access Federation) promotes the safe and effective use of powered access on a worldwide basis. Harrington Safety can facilitate all IPAF training courses for mobile access platforms and static platforms run in the following ‘easy to get to’ locations. We cover all of London, Essex, Buckinghamshire and surrounding areas. Should you wish to have training onsite, we work nationally and have a trusted team of experienced training professionals to provide you with the best training within the industry on your site. We are an accredited IPAF training centre, so are ideally placed to provide you with the training that you need. That’s why so many delegates choose to take an IPAF operator training course with us.
You can take a number of different courses here, including the IPAF operator training course 3A & 3B, as well as 1A and 1B.
Courses can be run over 1 day to 3 days, dependent on existing experience and successful completion of the training course. All IPAF courses provide you the opportunity to gain enough practical experience to be able to operate MEWPs (Mobile elevated working platforms) in a safe and confident way. Once the candidate completes a course successfully, they will be awarded with a PAL (Powered Access Licence) for the relevant category or categories taken. The PAL card is valid for 5 years.

FAQs
When will I receive my licence?
Upon successful completion, the instructor will issue you an IPAF temporary permit which can be used to show proof of training while your licence is audited and processed with IPAF. This auditing process normally takes 7-10 working days from your successful training date. You will then receive your digital licence via IPAFs ePAL app. Though IPAF went digital back in 2021, a hard copy licence can be requested, please contact our office for this.
Can I complete the IPAF operator theory online before the practical training day?
Yes. We offer maximum flexibility to our customers meaning you can choose to sit the theory online via IPAFs online eLearning portal instead of in the classroom. This option offers peace of mind that the theory is successfully completed and passed, before attending to complete the practical part of your training. The IPAF operator theory is fully interactive, and you have 24/7 access to complete the theory. This means you can fit this in around your schedule. In the unlikely event you’re unsuccessful on your online theory test, you can re-do the theory again without having to contact us to re-issue this for you as long as it is successfully completed before your confirmed practical training date. Can I be trained in one, two or all three categories on the same day?
Yes. We understand that not everyone needs the same categories of training in order to carry out their working role. You can choose between a single category (one from 1b, 3a or 3b), a double category (two from 1b, 3a or 3b) or be trained in all three of the categories (1b, 3a and 3b). Simply select the single, double or triple category option on the check-out page and then input which categories you wish to be trained in on your selected date.
