Everyone from an apprentice to a site manager should undergo the necessary health and safety training. This will help to prevent accidents, and will show workers how to carry out their jobs safely in a high-risk environment. Our expertise in the field has led to us developing a reputation as the provider of the best health and safety courses Wembley has to offer.
We provide a range of health and safety courses for delegates of all levels of experience, which can be taken across a full day, the weekend or online.
Whether we are working with 1 or 2 delegates or a large workforce, we will closely cooperate with you to help your staff achieve their CITB, PASMA and IPAF certifications. We also offer the HSA course which forms part of the courses needed to obtain a CSCS green card, as well as numerous health and safety compliance courses including Work at Height, Harness and Leading Edge, manual handing and many more. In addition we also offer Face Fit testing.
All of our courses are led by experienced construction professionals with years of experience on sites. They understand the challenges and dangers that construction workers face every day.
Our courses are welcoming and inclusive, and delegates are encouraged to join in class discussions, group work and ask questions to further build on their learning regardless of if the course is attended online or in the classroom. All of the courses and qualifications we provide are recognised by the relevant governing body and once the time comes for them to be renewed, a refresher course can often be taken.

Or, if you want to make the most of your time with us, you could combine your health and safety training with another half day course to give you a full, comprehensive learning experience.
Our training courses in Wembley cover a variety of areas. We currently offer courses relating to manual handling, asbestos awareness, abrasive wheels, petrol driven cut off saws, and Cat and Genny. To find out more about each of these in detail, please do get in touch with one of our health and safety training specialists in Wembley.

First Aid
First aid is a hugely important qualification to have, and nowhere more so than in a high risk environment like a construction site. Our first aid courses in Wembley will provide delegates with the knowledge, practical skills and confidence to be able to safely assess, triage and treat people in a safe and effective way, protecting themselves and others. Being able to do this before a medical professional arrives on site will help to greatly improve outcomes.
Our first aid training courses cover emergency first aid, first aid at work and mental health first aid. The need for effective training in the latter is becoming more and more widely recognised in the workplace.
CITB Courses Wembley
The Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) provide construction workers with the training they need to identify potential hazards on site. They also aim to enable everyone to understand the legislation which is in place to keep everyone safe on site. We’re one of the most highly regarded providers of CITB courses Wembley has to offer.
Our Wembley CITB courses can be taken online, giving you a safe and convenient option during the COVID-19 pandemic. Our online CITB training is held over Zoom, and covers everything that our in-person courses do. Taking part is very straight forward, as delegates will be given a link to join the online session at the agreed time. To take part in an online course, access to the internet, a camera and microphone are needed.
The test at the end of the course can be taken online, and will be observed remotely by an independent invigilator. Upon successful completion of the course, delegates will receive a CITB accredited certificate valid for 5 years.
SMSTS Courses
The Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) is for site managers, supervisors, or anyone else overseeing others on site. Our SMSTS course is delivered over 5 days. Made up of a combination of case studies, group work and class discussions, it’s informative, interactive and engaging.
The course itself is very comprehensive, and covers essential areas such as CDM regulations, confined spaces, demolition, scaffolding, electricity, excavations and working at height. All of the current relevant legislation will be covered too, giving delegates a wealth of new knowledge to draw upon on site. Successful completion of the course will lead to a CITB SMSTS certificate. This will expire after 5 years, a refresher course can be taken shortly before expiry.
SSSTS Courses
The Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) course is suitable for site supervisors and managers. It teaches them about the legal responsibilities they have to maintain health and safety on site, along with welfare and environmental issues. The course will cover health and safety legislation, common site issues, occupational health, and behavioural safety. Delegates will also be taught how to deliver effective toolbox talks, allowing them to present what they have learnt and protect those on site.
The SSSTS course in Wembley takes 2 days to complete. It’s delivered as a mix of class discussions and group work, and delegates will be asked to participate in individual or group presentations to demonstrate what they have learned during the course. Upon successful completion of a multiple choice test at the end of the course, delegates will gain a CITB SSSTS certificate. This is valid for 5 years.
CSCS Green Card Certification
For those who are looking to obtain a CSCS card, there are two courses that need to be completed before they can do so. Harrington Safety currently deliver one of these courses, which is the HSA 1 day course. Upon successful completion of this HSA course in Wembley, delegates will be one step closer to gaining their CSCS card. To do so, they will have to follow up a HSA course with a touch screen environmental test. Once a CSCS card has been successfully obtained, it is valid for a total of 5 years from that date.
Work at Height Courses
For anyone working at height, it is important to know how to stay safe when using scaffolding, ladders, platforms and powered access equipment. It’s also vital to know how to carry out risk assessments and correctly use PPE. Our working at height training courses in Wembley are appropriate for anyone who will be working at a height.
Our range of courses include harness use, harness inspection, steps, ladders, harness and leading edge, along with how to identify potential hazards. It is important that everyone on site is able to identify hazards and operate in the safest way to prevent accidents from happening.
Our working at height training courses in Wembley are all half day courses, which can be taken alone or combined with others. We can even provide training on site if you have the facilities, allowing delegates to learn in familiar surroundings.
Face Fit Testing
In a dust or fume-heavy environment, respiratory protection equipment (RPE) is essential for maintaining long and short term respiratory health. A face fit test ensures that a face mask is correctly fitted and that an individual isn’t going to be exposed to any harmful materials. It’s safe and effective, and will ensure that a person has the protection they need to be able to carry out their job safely.
During our face fit testing in Wembley, delegates will first of all complete a taste test during which they will confirm that they can taste a bitter solution. Once they have confirmed this, they will be asked to complete a number of different exercises while wearing a mask to see if it moves. The test is successfully completed when a delegate has worked their way through the exercises without tasting any more of the bitter solution. This confirms that the mask provides a proper seal. It’s recommended that a face fit test be carried out every 2 years.
