Nationwide eLearning Courses
Health and safety training is important for everyone on site to ensure hazards are identified and to help minimise the risk of accidents happening. By its very nature, construction is a dangerous job, so effective training is important to keep everyone safe.
From the apprentice to the site manager, everybody needs to take responsibility for ensuring the best safety standards are adhered to. We provide a wide range of courses that are suitable for all levels of construction workers helping them progress in their career.
In these times, we all face restrictions and obstacles as a result of Coronavirus (COVID-19), but that shouldn’t mean your training programme for your employees is disrupted. We offer nationwide online courses which can be accessed from anywhere, all you need is an internet based device such as a computer or tablet, microphone, camera and internet access.
Our CITB (Construction Industry Training Board) health and safety courses are available online to allow delegates to undertake training from anywhere in the country in a safe and socially distanced way. These online health and safety courses are provided over Zoom via live video with an experienced trainer and other delegates on the course, providing a productive learning environment.
Training will go ahead exactly as it would in person with discussions, quizzes and activities still taking place and interaction is greatly encouraged between delegates.
Those who sign up for one of our construction courses online will be sent a link to join the online session at a dedicated time shortly before the course commences, this provides the delegate the chance to ask the trainer any technical questions they may have prior to beginning the course. All of our trainers either currently work in or have previously worked in the construction industry for many years, so have a full understanding of the potential challenges and demands on site – approaching the course material in a realistic and accessible way.

To qualify for this course, delegates will need to have an existing SMSTS certificate that has not yet expired. If it has been over 5 years since they took the course and their certificate has expired, they will be unable to sit the refresher course and will need to take the full SMSTS course again.

Asbestos Awareness
Asbestos is a very real risk for any construction workers that are working on or demolishing any buildings that were built before the year 2000. Being aware of the risks and the correct way to identify and reduce exposure to asbestos ensures the safety of workers, clients and the general public.
This half day course is aimed at raising awareness about the potential for being exposed to asbestos from knocking down a wall to simply putting up a picture hook.
The course covers the main properties of asbestos and its effects on health, the types of asbestos and where it is likely to be found and what general procedures should be followed in the event of an emergency. This course covers how to identify and how to avoid the risks of asbestos exposure.
Mental Health First Aid Courses
Mental health is an increasing focus within the construction industry, where there are high levels of mental health issues among the workforce. 26% of workers in the construction industry are suffering from work-related stress, depression or anxiety and is the second highest health problem behind musculoskeletal disorders according to the HSE.
Mental health issues in the construction industry have seen a steady increase over recent years and awareness of mental health has become higher than it ever was. Our mental health first aid courses provide delegates with the training to identify and understand symptoms of mental ill health, and how to support someone dealing with a mental health issue.
Mental health first aid is just as important as physical first aid, having dedicated mental health first aiders on site will provide delegates with the knowledge to recognise warning signs and support someone while keeping themselves safe.
Our range of online health and safety courses include Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health, First Aid for Mental Health and Supervising First Aid for Mental Health. These are all valuable qualifications for workers at all levels to possess.
